Egmont Honey is a family run bee keeping business based in Taranaki. The company is appropriately named after the towering mountain that overlooks the entire region. Also known as Mt Taranaki, the indigenous Maori people of New Zealand have huge respect for this beautiful mountain. It is a great source of food, honey, recreation and crystal clear water that flows down the fast moving rivers. The Egmont Honey bee keepers are proud to collect all of their honey from this great region. We leave our bees in the native forest all year round. This ensures that you as the consumer gets some of the most natural, pure and pristine honey in the world. All of our hives are situated on very remote forest blocks in the South Taranaki region. Some of our land is so remote that we have to use helicopters to lift the hives into stands of flowering Manuka for the summer.
