Despite its common association with Asian cuisine, seaweed has strong historical roots in various parts of the world, spanning many continents and cultures, from the Vikings to the Native Indians of America. In the West, however, the art of seaweed cookery has been somewhat forgotten. The popularity of sushi has altered this. For its flavours, textures & versatility, seaweed is stimulating the taste buds and imaginations of many innovative foodies.
Ocean vegetables have been dubbed the 'new super food' & for good reasons: highly nutritious, the best source of iodine in nature and full of new compounds that have been found to help fight degenerative diseases.
