Baked apples

Ingredients

4 Granny Smith apples

100 g Butter, softened

75 g Brown sugar

½ cup Walnuts, chopped

½ tsp Cinnamon

½ tsp Nutmeg

Method

Preheat oven to 180C. Wash and dry the apples, then use a corer or a sharp knife to remove the core. Place side-by-side in a shallow baking dish.

Mix together the butter, sugar, walnuts and spices. Spoon the mixture into the centre of the apples. Make sure to use lots of filling — it is fine if the apples are overflowing with the mixture.

Bake apples for half an hour or until they are soft and the skin is wrinkled. Served with whipped cream.
