Rachel Taulelei is the founder of Yellow Brick Road, a company demonstrably invested in New Zealand's food culture. She works with fishermen who long-line catch on day boats, and partners with the country's best chefs, ensuring they can trace their fish from hook to plate.
A born and bred Wellingtonian, Rachel is co-founder of the City Market, where she and business partner Martin Bosley share their passion for community through food. She is the creator of the famed Oyster Saloon, chairs the Wellington on a Plate Advisory Board, and is a member of the Le Cordon Bleu Advisory Board.
Following in the footsteps of Peter Gordon and Antipodes Water, Rachel has been bestowed with the New Zealand Restaurant Association's Innovator Award.
