Barrys Bay Cheese

Here at Barrys Bay Cheese we've been making traditional handcrafted cheese on Banks Peninsula since 1895. So that makes us over 125 years old! We take great care in the art of cheese making and continue to do so using the traditional methods brought to New Zealand by the early English settlers. Our unwavering commitment to quality begins with locally sourced fresh milk from a single farm.

Our collection of cheese ranges from real English Cheddars to Havarti, and the ever popular Peninsula Blue. We also make European styles such as Gouda, Maasdam, Edam and Gruyere, and our new sheep milk Pecorino. Visit our stand to taste your way through the range.
