The Smokehouse

The Smokehouse was established over 20 years ago on the historic Mapua Wharf. Set on the Waimea Inlet - the largest estaury in the South Island, it is an area famed for sunshine, sand, scenery, artists and vineyards.

Premium Seafood tenderly handsmoked in small batches on a wharf in Mapua at the top of NZ?s South Island using traditional brick kilns, New Zealand manuka shavings and a refreshingly simple brine.
