Sachie Nomura is New Zealand’s most experienced Asian cuisine chef and owner of cooking school Sachie’s Kitchen - the number one rated and mostawarded cooking school in Australasia.
Born in Japan, Sachie migrated to New Zealand and studied a degree in Chinese, before marrying Chinese husband and business partner Nick Siu.
Since then, Sachie’s Kitchen was founded in 2010 and with it, Sachie’s vision to take authentic Asian cuisine to every home in New Zealand by making it accessible, fun and simple, was realised. More than 40,000 Kiwis have had a taste of Asian culture through food and fun at Sachie’s Kitchen over the past six years, and Sachie expects this number to rise as NZ’s Asian population
grows and we embrace Asian culture.
She firmly believes that great food can bring happiness, satisfaction and even change people’s outlook on life. Sachie spends her time overseeing Sachie’s Kitchen, travelling through Asia hunting new recipes, designing degustation menus, presenting on TV, writing books and contributing to magazines, and designing new recipes for the cooking school.

In this scrumptious demonstration, Sachie will kick things off with Crispy Vietnamese Prawns with Green Rice Flakes, followed by Thai Fish Pie, which draws inspiration from the humble Kiwi fish pie and the Thai dish Tom Ka Gai.
