If you want to learn how to create dishes that will have your guests asking for more, you need to catch a demo or two in the NEFF Cooking Theatre. See celebrity chefs like Annabelle White and Ganesh Raj cook their signature dishes and share secrets to making fabulous meals at home. Your tastebuds will thank you for it!

Access to all features including the NEFF Cooking Theatre is included with your show ticket.

Friday chef demonstrations will have sign language interpreters from 11am - 2:45pm.

Annabelle White - Comedy and casserole
11am-11:45am

Umami is the word to describe our comedy queens’ recipes this year. Her seafood casserole uses secret ingredients to give it that pop, serve with wild rice - you won’t resist licking the bowl clean. She follows with a delicious blueberry buttermilk tart and eggplant sandwich.

Josh Emett - Learn from the best

Josh’s days and nights are spent between his latest two ventures, Onslow in Auckland’s CBD and the fabulous Oyster Inn on Waiheke. Whatever Josh brings to our stage it will be world-class but at the same time achievable in your own kitchen – that’s what makes him so brilliant. 

Jayshri and Laxmi Ganda - Authentic Indian inspiration

Learn to cook authentic Indian cuisine for the first time at The Auckland Food Show. Mother and daughter duo - Jayshri and Laxmi Ganda will be creating some delicious recipes from their fabulous book - A Little Bit of This, A Little Bit of That. Learn how to make samosas at home (tastings will be served) and their incredible masala chicken.

Nicola Galloway - Sourdough crumpets

Nicola will be teaching us all about sourdough and how to keep that precious starter at its absolute peak by using it for yummy crumpets plus some incredible topping ideas including caramel apples and berry & prune jam.  Nicola's food focus is on using healthful pantry staples with an emphasis on eating seasonal using local produce.

The Tattooed Butcher - Home kill - lamb cuts

James Smith- AKA The Tattooed Butcher has competed in countless competitions across the world and most recently he was crowned the 2020 NZ butcher of the year against some of the best in the country. James' passion for his trade is infectious, it's been a while since we did a demo on butchery, we are pleased to have James show us how to break down a side of lamb for your freezer.

Ruth Pretty - Legendary ginger loaf

We are delighted that Ruth is taking time off from her busy house and kitchen in Te Horo, to share with us her high tea inspired recipes. Ruth’s ginger loaf has been a Kiwi icon since the 90s and the legend lives on. Not only is it a loaf, you can also use this recipe to create the best ever French toast, Eton mess, ginger crisps and to-die-for ginger kisses.

Ganesh Raj - Feed 4 for less than $20

Food hacks for quick, and surprisingly inexpensive meals. Everyone loves fried chicken! Ganesh will be sharing two types of fried chicken - tom yum ‘yum yum’ & honey nut crunch and for the veggies one-pan eggplant parmigiana.

Michael Van de Elzen - Good From Scratch

Top NZ chef turned TV personality, Michael Van de Elzen brings inspiration from his farm-to-table based cooking school - Good From Scratch. Michael is going to share his incredible winter recipe - pressure cooker beef shin pappardelle.
