The NZ Hospitality Championships returns to the Logan Campbell Centre for four days this July, alongside The Auckland Food Show.
Entry to the competitions is free and visitors can view some of New Zealand’s top culinary and hospitality stars in action.
There are competitions for all levels, from primary and secondary schools to the much-coveted tertiary competition, Nestlé Toque d’Or. Also on show will be our top national and international chefs.
Visitors can watch margarine sculpting and cake decorating, alongside some ‘old school’ events, including competitive bedmaking and barista and cocktail smackdown events, where a drink is chosen by the spin of a wheel and then created by the competitor against the clock.
New to the competitions this year is the Young Pastry Chef of the Year, in answer to increase interest in this speciality from our young up and coming chefs. Chef of the Year, as well as many other ‘Of the Year’ competitions will be judged using WorldChefs standards, by qualified Culinary and Restaurant Service judges.
Real drawcards for a public spectacle with be the Dilmah High Tea, Kiwi Kids Can Cook, and the Curry Cup.
Whether you are a keen foodie or a professional chef, there’ll be plenty of action to whet your appetite!
