Every batch of Taku Honey is sourced from New Zealand’s remote, mountainous high country terrain. The land of legends plays host to our hives so that the rich history of the land is beautifully reflected in the richness of our honey.
Taku Honey translates to my honey in te reo Māori. The heart of the Taku brand is a partnership which began to beat when long time neighbours, the Westervelt Company and Owhaoko B & D Trust Lands formed a connection. A connection firmly anchored in our shared beliefs and commitment to protect the environment.
We are directly involved in production every step of the way, from the land to the hive to the jar – and proudly stand by the authenticity of our products.
Produced in response to consumer demand, Taku Honey®’s Honey with Ginger combines the sweet taste of honey with the spicy warmth of ginger. It’s a vibrant flavour combination, guaranteed to take taste buds on an exciting ride. “We introduced our first flavoured variant Honey with Lemon to our premium honey range in late 2016 and our customers just loved its smooth texture and zingy hit”, says Marketing Manager, Vicki Febery. “Since then, they’ve been asking more flavours. Honey with Ginger has been developed in response to that demand.” It’s a versatile honey, enjoyed many ways – it’s soothing stirred into hot drinks, delicious when added to dishes, great as a spread, or tempting straight off a spoon.
