Pure Delish Nograin-ola Cereal


A couple of years ago, Karen, owner of pure delish decided to play around with a granola style cereal that was grain-free. The market was starting to embrace our paleo friendly Primal Breakfast Mix and also our Primal Bar that was launched a few years earlier. What Karen wanted to achieve was something totally unique in flavour and texture but was also super clean. Soon after this our Raspberry & Maple Nut Nograin-ola was born and became an instant hit amongst consumers. Not only because it contained no grains, gluten or dairy but also being low in sugars made it suitable for diabetics.

Following the huge success of our Raspberry & Maple Nut Nograin-ola cereal, we decided to develop a new snack bar to compliment our existing range. We wanted to ensure the new product tapped into the global trend for healthier reduced sugar snack foods. Based on these criteria we began work on creating a snack bar using our Raspberry & Maple Nut Nograin-ola cereal as a starting point since this product already had many of the features we wanted to replicate in our new bar. After much testing and tweaking, the nograin-ola bar was launched onto the market a couple of months ago and has received great reviews from customers.

Hot on the heels of the new Nograin-ola Bar is our brand new to the market Choc Nut Nograin-ola which was developed to compliment the existing Raspberry & Maple Nut Nograin-ola cereal but also be different enough to attract new customers or give existing customers a completely different flavoured alternative. We wanted to stay true to our values by launching another product that was unique, super clean with a good nutritional profile. Choc Nut Nograin-ola offers a 70% dark chocolate hit, is packed full of nuts and seeds, and has no grains, gluten, dairy or egg!

Product innovation and understanding what our customers want has played a huge part in staying ahead of the game and competition at pure delish. Taking risks around food trends and flavour combinations and being the first to market with new ideas has been the way we have forged ahead of our competition in the premium premium cereal product category in New Zealand. We have found consumers quick to pickup on international food trends and even someone who is not familiar with the pure delish brand may discover our products as they typically will tick a lot of boxes for consumers if they are interested in products that are ‘paleo’, ‘grain free’, ‘contain no refined sugars’ etc.
