Annabelle White's Italian Job

Italian ambassador to New Zealand, Fabrizio Marcelli made headlines earlier this year when he put pepperoni on pavlova. Annabelle White is here to right his wrongs in The Food Show Cooking Theatre, with gusto and giggles. Join her, the ambassador and Antonio Cacace to find out if we can impart classic Kiwi baking tips to our Italian amicos. Annabelle will be accepting gold coin donations for the City Mission, The Food Show’s charity partner in this hilarious, raucous presentation. Long live la dolce vita

Simon Gault's Live Cook-Off

Ever wondered what it would be like to compete in MasterChef? Here’s your chance to find out! 

Simon Gault is hosting a special new style of cooking demo at The Food Show Wellington – where you could get to do the cooking.

Here’s how it works:

1.     Simon will select six people from the audience to come on-stage and cook like their lives depended on it.

2.     Each participant will follow Simons instructions as he cooks the mystery box of ingredients.

3.     Simon will select a further six people to be their 'phone a friend' if the cooks get into trouble.

4.     A further six audience members will be selected to sit at the chef’s table, sip a glass of wine, and wait for the meals to arrive.

5.     Simon will be the judge, the winner gets a fabulous prize.

Recipes and radio in the tradition of Aunt Daisy

Annabelle White shares her best recipes and cooking tips on her RadioLIVE show, carrying on a warm and wonderful tradition that reaches back to the days of 20th century radio legend Aunt Daisy. In this live cooking demo, Annabelle will discuss talk-back radio, and show you how to make three fail-safe retro classics: Adele’s no-fail sponge cake; strawberry cream muffins; and Yorkshire rascals.

Grill Meats Beer

IPA battered scallops and Doris Plum Cider cheesecake are on the menu when chef Jordan Adam (Grill Meats Beer) showcases some of the delicious ways beer and cider can be used in cooking. In a collaboration with Hamilton-based Good George Brewing, Jordan will demonstrate how he uses two of their most popular brews in his tasty recipes. Alongside Jordan will be one of the Good George team sharing insights into the brews, their flavour profiles, and how and why they work well in and match with the dishes.
