Lone Goat Vineyard

Lone Goat is a winery producing wines that reflect the terroir of the region. Small parcels and a hands off approach help make our fine wines.

Lone Goat’s name is inspired by the vineyard’s sole inhabitant and guardian of the vines, Ella the goat. This mischievous madam is well known for her sassy attitude and excellent taste.

Our vineyard on Burnham School Road, established by the Giesen Brothers, has been producing outstanding wine for nearly 30 years.

This tradition has been continued by Lone Goat Vineyard, with our first wine, the Botrytis Selection 2007, winning the Trophy for Champion Sweet Wine at the 2008 New Zealand International Wine Show.
