About The Food Show Wellington 2009

FOOD SHOW WELLINGTON A TASTY TRIUMPH

Wellington’s gourmet gathering that is The Food Show once again delivered on its delicious promises, leaving legions of fulfilled foodies who are already nattering about next years show!

Drawing in nearly 20,000 across the three-day extravaganza, the Wellington Show is as popular and people pleasing as ever. People came from near and afar to sample the sophisticated selection of sweet and savory delights. From flavorful Roasted Cherry Chutney, which was a firm favorite of many, to the icy irresistibleness of Kohu Road ice cream, there was plenty to tickle the taste buds while snackers were wooed by the smooth sounds of Saxocino who played live at the Show.

Another fabulous feature of the Show, the Electrolux Cooking Theatre, saw a stellar selection of New Zealand chefs and culinary icons display their flair for food with some ravishing recipes that left mouths watering. International sensation Donna Hay wowed with her winning demonstration, whipping up fabulous fare that was as fresh as it was flavorsome.

As one satisfied show-goer commented: “Last Saturday was my first Food Show Wellington experience and I absolutely loved every minute of it. The range of product on offer was diverse…and in virtually all cases, it was the people who were growing the produce and devising the recipes and processes for the various products that were manning the stands, and it was very interesting talking to them. If you haven’t yet experienced the Food Show, put it on your ‘must do’ list for 2010!
