Richard Till

Richard Till first came to most New Zealanders' attention as the rambunctious host of award-winning TV show 'Kiwi Kitchen', but his culinary career actually stretches back several decades. Arguably the founder of what is now known as 'The Strip' in his native Christchurch, his restaurants Espresso 124 and The Worcester Street Dining Room have become local icons.

Originally a set builder and painter for the film industry, Richard is now in demand as a TV personality and live performer – including sell-out seasons of his comic cooking shows 'Just Dick it' and 'Dick Does Dinner'. He also writes regularly for 'Zest', the food and fashion section of The Press, and presents 'Sounds Delicious' on National Radio.

His food philosophy is all about simple but delicious food that can be cooked easily at home. And he believes that learning from your mistakes is more important than fancy ingredients or cunning combinations of unusual flavours.
