Open wide, Christchurch – The Food Show is on its way.

From 26 to 28 March Christchurch's Westpac Arena will be transformed into a food-lover's dream come true as it plays host to The Food Show 2010.

The number of exhibitors confirmed for this year's show has surpassed the record number from 2009 – so it's going to be a bumper show! So if you're a southern foodie looking for the most delicious array of food and drink available – look no further than The Food Show Christchurch.

Here are some sneak previews to get your juices flowing:

  • Award-winning ice cream from Kohu Road is free from artificial flavours, colours, emulsifiers, stabilisers or preservatives – and spectacularly yummy.

  • Old-fashioned chocolates from Queen Anne, an authentic kiwi brand from the 1920s that has been reinvigorated for the new century.

  • Honey liqueurs infused with real, 23-carat gold leaf by Alchemy Beverages who claim the drink is not only delicious, but will also "aid your prowess as a lover".

  • New Frute flavoured cider range, a preservative-free fusion of traditional cider and real fruit from Sujon berry growers.

But it doesn't end there: the Electrolux Cooking Theatre will be packed with cooking demonstrations and classes from legendary chefs Lauraine Jacobs, Al Brown, Peta Mathias, Sophie Gray, Ray McVinnie, Annabelle White, Julie Biuso and more.

And the show will also feature a contingent of innovative Central Otago companies, including Alpine Gold, Provisions, Kutash Organics, Pisa Moorings, Freefall Wines, Winehouse, and Tourism Central Otago.

There is nothing quite like The Food Show and there will be no better chance this year from Christchurch to lap up the latest and best food and drink from New Zealand and around the world, all in one place.
