Merlot Poached Pears

Ingredients

  • 6 Pears
  • 2 Cinnamon Sticks
  • 200g Sugar
  • Church Road Merlot
  • Vintage Cheddar Hohepa
  • Gingerbread
 

Method

Peel pears, cut them in half and scoop out the core. Place the pears in a pot and cover with Church Road Merlot. Add cinnamon and sugar and bring the mixture to a simmer. The pears are ready when they can be pierced with a knife easily. Place in a jar and preserve.

Serve your pears with gingerbread and vintage cheddar.
