Easy Chocolate Sauce

CATEGORIES: Dessert

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Alison's Choco Chips
  • 1/3 cup cream
  • 1 tsp instant coffee or 1 tsp finely grated orange peel

Method

Serves 4

Put the choc chips, cream and instant coffee or grated orange peel into a small microwaveable bowl or jug. Microwave at 50% power for 2 minutes, then take from microwave and stir until smooth. If choc chips have not completely dissolved, heat for 10 seconds and stir again. Repeat if necessary. Refrigerate or stand container in a mixture of ice and water until cold. Cover container and refrigerate until required. To make an ice-cream sundae, drizzle sauce over vanilla ice-cream on top of canned peaches, or make a banana split by cutting a banana lengthways, topping it with two scoops of ice-cream and drizzling sauce over it.

Alison says

Don't worry if choc chips have a lighter colour when stored for a long time. This does not affect their flavour. Add a few tablespoons in the next banana muffins you make. Yum!
