Uncle Joes is a small family business on edge of Blenheim.
Originally a nephew used to crack walnuts with his Uncle Joe around the radio whilst listening to rugby.After a few sessions the kernels piled up so these tasty morsels were sold at market under the label Uncle Joes.
The business grew steadily since being taken over in 1997
The original Uncle Joes cell bag still commands a good share in the marketplace but is complimented with pottles of premium halves of walnuts and whole kernels of hazelnuts.
Uncle Joes recommends trying the walnut or hazelnut meal for making really good apple crumble or sprinkled over a baked fish dish.
UJs produces a premium walnut oil that has many accolades from the NZ Gourmet Oil Competition. UJs delicate hazelnut oil has gained 2 silver medals at the same competition.
Our hazelnut and walnut spreads are a must on a cheese platter amidst all the goodies.
New to the oil range are mustard seed, pumpkin seed and grape seed oils.
