Tuatara Brewery has been making craft beer since 2000. It was a collaboration between Carl Vasta, Sean Murrie and Fraser McGuiness. It was small beginnings with the brewery only supplying 2 bars tap beer in the beginning. From there we started bottling and it really took off. Tuatara now has over 500 customers and this is growing every day. It's due to the awakening that has occurred in the craft beer market where consumers want beer with proper flavour and are prepared to pay for a higher quality product.

Along the way Tuatara has received numerous awards as listed below.

2008/09 Best Brewery in NZ as voted at our national contest, Beervana
2009, 2010,2011 Placed in the fast 50 each year and twice one fastest growing manufacturer in the Lower North Island
2011 Won Emerging business category at the Gold Awards.
2011 Won best business overall at Kapiti Business Awards
