Piako Gourmet Yoghurt is proudly Kiwi and family owned, with a simple goal; to provide the best gourmet yoghurt products for you.

Just like any real kiwi business Piako was launched from home in Mums kitchen. After littering the kitchen with yoghurt and an overwhelming increase in business the time came to give Mum back her space. Now Piako Gourmet Yoghurt resides in an export standard premise in Mt Wellington/Sylvia Park. Since its launch in 2008 things have gone from strength to strength at Piako, new flavors have been added, new products, new customers and tons of new retailers.

The name Piako, originates from the Piako River, which runs through Ngatea, a small farming community in the North Island where founders, bros Shaun and Logan along with friend Hamish spent their formative years on neighbouring farms.

Our yoghurt is based on Grandma's recipe a thick creamy Australian Greek style yoghurt, originating from Queensland, but now full blown kiwi made using only the best local New Zealand ingredients. Free from preservatives and artificial ingredients the 100% natural yoghurt is rich in benefits.

Health benefits include, a probiotic containing acidophilus, bifidus and casei culture strains. All which assist in boosting the levels of good bacteria in the body more specifically the gut system.

We have also launched a new Gourmet Frozen Yoghurt - Frozen yoghurt is the new black. Here at Piako we're setting the standard. We've got a range of flavours for you, with only more to come. By using the same recipe as our gourmet yoghurt and mixing up the processes a lil' we create the perfect creamy frozen yoghurt for your palette. It is extremely hard to resist especially on a hot summers day, but don't worry we'll make sure there's plenty for you.
