One Spice

Julia Page originally from Flint, Michigan moved to Whangarei bringing with her Greek One Spice® a 150 year old family recipe. The family spice was originally developed by her great grandmother Alena Paraschos in Greece. Alena started by combining her favourite herbs & spices in a jar to help make things easier while cooking for her large family.
The recipe was passed on to her son Peter, who travelled the world as a chef using this unique combination in many Greek dishes. This eventually led him to opening his own restaurants in the state of Michigan USA . Peter’s son, George, who is his third child of nine, worked alongside his father learning all of the family secrets using the family season blend to prepare all of the culinary dishes. This ultimately led George to open his own restaurants. Julia, who is George’s third child of six, spent many years growing up in her father’s restaurants learning how to use the secret blend. Julia thought, maybe one day I'll bottle the family spice. However Julia spent a career in the IT Industry. During her travels Julia found herself in the Cayman Islands, where she met Matthew Page, a New Zealander who ultimately became her husband and led her to Whangarei. Arriving with two small children on her hip in 2004, she thought this would be a good time to start the family spice business. She spend the next few years collecting all of the family recipes to develop a cookbook which is available online for free. By 2007 Julia launched her business and began marketing Greek One Spice at the street markets in Whangarei. Today the company offers eight different flavours Including a No Salt version of Greek, Mexican, Bacon, Cajun, Stock 12, Garlic & Chives and Lemon Pepper – Mediterranean Style along with the original, Greek One Spice. One Spice® focus is on developing season blends packed full of flavour, not salt.  The products are gluten free, renal, vegan, contain no MSG and are available in many retail locations nationwide.
