Hamilton born Emett has come a long way since growing up on a remote Waikato farm. He is best known for his role for almost eleven years with the international Gordon Ramsay Restaurant Group working alongside Ramsay as his Executive Chef and collecting four prestigious Michelin stars along the way.

In addition to overseeing North American operations as Executive Chef at The London New York and The London West Hollywood restaurants he has been Head Chef at the renowned Savoy Grill and opened Gordon Ramsay's first two restaurants in Australia.

After living overseas for nearly two decades Emett is excited to be back living on kiwi soil and proud to have chosen NZ to be the place he opened his first restaurant, Rata, in Queenstown. Rata opened in May 2012 to critical acclaim and continues to delight patrons with its ever-changing seasonally inspired menu. Alongside his restaurant, in order to 'reach' more kiwis, Josh has developed a restaurant-quality slow-cooked supermarket range called Chef Series; now Josh's creations can be enjoyed in the comfort of your own home.

Additionally, Josh has also become something of a household name thanks to his regular TV role as one of the Masterchef New Zealand judges.
