Equagold is a privately owned Company originally known as Vanilla Direct®, owned by Ross and Dianne Appleton based in Takanini, Auckland. Importing Vanilla and making a pure Vanilla extract formed the basis of what has become Equagold®, a specialty gourmet food company with its core business in Vanilla products.

Products include Vanilla pods from PNG and Madagascar, Pure Vanilla Extract, all made by Equagold, as well as other Vanilla products, Dutch Cocoa, Drinking Chocolate, Couverture Chocolate and top quality spices and spice blends. The products are high end gourmet food items sold in selected supermarkets and gourmet delis throughout New Zealand and Australia. The Company also supplies food service products to restaurants and caters as well as the manufacturers.
