The seaside suburbs of Bay View and Westshore are the northern gateway to Napier, just a few minutes drive from the heart of Hawke's Bay's lovely Art Deco city. This coastal paradise is a favourite holiday area for families and those who love the outdoors.

Many homes in semi-rural Bay View's seaside settlement were originally built as baches, giving the area its distinctive holiday character. Aptly named, it offers a sweeping view of the bay from the Port of Napier around to Whirinaki Beach. The Bay View beach is fine shingle and the ocean gets quite deep quickly, making for excellent fishing - surf casting or contiki. The area has also access to the Rotary Pathways - kilometres of pathway connecting Bay View all the way to Havelock North, fantastic for cycling or walking. There are a number of different routes and it;s fun, safe and a scenic way to explore Hawke's Bay.

Bay View and Westshore Beaches have a variety of businesses offering locally-made products, wine, fresh fruit and vegetables, groceries, gourmet food, takeaways and pub meals. Award-winning wineries and restaurants - some less than 200 metres from the Pacific Ocean - provide a relaxing atmosphere and tasty cuisine.
